Just offering some thoughts from my blue and tan journal of quotes found in reading or even on Facebook that I found worthy of writing down to remember. I often use the journal as a resource when preparing lay messages or planning devotions for The Gathering. As we start this ‘busy, fun, relaxing, visiting with family and friends’ time of summer, there are many ways to share love and be a servant to others.
“Never be so focused on your own life that you miss out on the opportunity to be a blessing in the lives of those you encounter.” – Kathryn Lang
“At the end of the day it’s not about what you have or even what you have accomplished… it’s about who you have lifted up, who you’ve made better. It’s about what you’ve given back.”
– From Grace & Mercy–Denzel Washington
“I am a little pencil in the hand of a writing God, who is sending a love letter to the world.” – Mother Teresa
“Some people need to be told they are worthy, and that they are loved, not because no one told them before, but because someone told them they weren’t.” – Contemplative Monk
“When working with young people there are times when you see results in ten seconds and there are times you won’t see it for ten years. Either way, keep planting those seeds of character, eventually they bloom.” – Oklahoma Parents Center, Inc
The same is true with the Good News of the Gospel and love of Christ!
Wishing a summer full of joy!
