Christmastime is a time for joy for many – but not all. Dealing with the loss of a loved one, job loss, divorce or separation or serious illness can make the festivities of the season painful for many. The happiness others celebrate can make someone going through grief, sadness and loss feel singled out or left out of the season. The Blue Christmas/Longest Night Service provides a sacred space for remembrance, reflection, healing and hope. Alternately called “Blue Christmas” and “Longest Night”, it is generally held on or near the date of the longest night of the year, in honor of those dealing with grief and loss.
Please join us if you will on December 19th at 3:00PM at Chocowinity United Methodist Church for our Blue Christmas/Longest Night Service.
