“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judaea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” – Acts 1:8
We have some faithful servants in the Sound District that have answered the call by sharing the love of our Lord with others as Certified Lay Speakers. These servant leaders provide messages from the Word when pastors are away from the pulpit on Sundays.
At this time when COVID has prevented traveling to various congregations, we will be introducing you to them, in hopes you will meet them soon, in person.
John A. Williams: John joined the Lay Speaker family in 2016. After serving in the Navy John and his wife have settled Kinston where John is employed with a trucking company.
At the present time John is faithfully serving at Maysville UMC and is enrolled in the Licensed Local Pastor candidacy program.
Dale K. Attaway: Dale lives in Havelock and is enjoying a retired life (after retiring from 2 careers—-USMC and the NC Prison System). He serves his local church, First United Methodist, Havelock, as President of the UMM and a member of the choir and worship committee.
We would love to provide information on the Lay Servant/Lay Speaker program to all who may have an interest. Feel free to contact us –
