Do you ever feel like God is calling you to move? Sitting in the pew, your car, or in front of a computer screen for worship right now, do you feel a tug? It would be great if God showed up with a big flashing sign or clear resounding voice that tells us, without question… how we should grow into the creation he designed.
Instead, we feel the pull. We ignore it at first. The desire to serve grows. Still, we are not sure where our unique gifts fit best. We begin to look around for ways to simply be used up for his glory. The hunger grows.
The NC Conference of the United Methodist Church is offering many courses online over the next several months. Two of the very first to be available are the Basic Course for Lay Servant Ministries and Spiritual Gifts. The link for the entire course listing is below.
Follow that tug and sign up! Grow your heart. Better yet, grab a few friends and take the courses together! Growing TOGETHER is a beautiful and fun way to begin to equip ourselves, “to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”
Look around your church and reach out to invite a hungry heart to take a course. Often, people just need to know that someone recognizes their heart moving… that someone sees them. Knowing one person wants to encourage and support that journey for another, can be life changing.
If you are a Lay Leader, please share these opportunities with your entire congregation. Each and every person in each and every pew is a leader! Each one created by design to bring unique gifts to the kingdom work.
Let’s make the Fall of 2020, the season for new growth in the Sound District. Sign up using this link and I look forward to learning and growing with many of you.
