Dexter Liam is our one-year-old rescue dog, whom we call our “handsome hound.” He has brought new energy into our old lives!
We adopted him from a shelter in March 2024. Since then, we walk more, nap more, play more, and laugh more than we have in years. Each week, he goes to work with us some days and has two days at the doggy daycare to play with other dogs.
Dexter approaches life with enthusiasm! He is happiest with his tethered body grounded and his head sticking out of the sunroof with ears and jowls flapping in the breeze. He takes in everything as if it were his first time experiencing it.
We can learn a great deal from Dexter about life. Lift your face into the sunshine. Don’t worry about your hair. Run hard and nap with equal measure. Kiss, don’t bite your loved ones… even when you really want to bite them.
Most importantly, love the humans you have, like they are the most important thing in the world to you… because life just wouldn’t be the same without them.
Love each other well and approach this new year with enthusiasm and wonder. 365 days of possibilities await!
Psalm 16:11
You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence, there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
